Background: Lo'kas' first memories are of the colony on Codian, a moon around the planet Ysleia. He can recall those moments by accessing a port in his wrist and hooking in a datapad or holoviewer. An implant in Lo'kas' neural network acts as a recorder, recording events he actively commits to his memory drives. Such is the way among his people, the Ganks, a tribe of cybernetically altered humanoids who inhabit small enclaves throughout Hutt space.

Those that meet Ganks like Lo'kas assume they are as cold and calculating as a droid, that they are as devoid of emotion and empathy as the machines of which they are built. But Lo'kas defies that stereotype, as most Ganks do.

Before leaving home Lo'kas had inherited several cybernetics from his family. In this way a piece of his loved ones lives on through him. His rapid reaction augmentation came from his uncle who piloted speeders with lightning fast reflexes and the agility of a nexu. His Gank communicator came from his father, a simple modification, but one which allowed him the closest connection to those he knew. His mother gave him a brand new mod, a finger augmentation that actually allows him to interface with computers and locks, and bypass some security parameters. His mother knew he was destined to leave, and she gave the gift as a sign that she never wanted him to be shackled.

When the opportunity came to take up with a ships captain aboard the Copperhead, Lo'kas signed on. At 14 years old, he left Codian and made his way through a dark and unforgiving galaxy.

The Captain of the Copperhead was a wily old snake by the name of Tarenngin, and it was from him that Lo'kas earned his name and found his place in the galaxy. For 14 years Lo'kas served aboard the Copperhead, learning to handle blasters, officials and criminals. When Tarenngin finally died in a deal gone bad, Lo'kas carried on the business, using the Copperhead to raid unmanned rebel depots and sell the items back to the then supply-starved rebel forces.

Had Lo'kas been half as wily as Tarenngin he wouldn't have tried the same scam a third time to the same mark, but he was just a kid and he got cocky. The Demeter's Captain impounded the Copperhead and locked up Lo'kas.

The time has passed slowly aboard the Demeter and the changes aboard the ship have left their mark on the Gank smuggler. His once cocksure attitude is replaced by the fear and trepidation of one who has seen too many horrible things. He has seen what is just outside his door, and he knows it's just a matter of time before his luck runs out too.
