Nate Reynolds grew up in one of the poorest districts on Coruscant, ruled by the Kintan Kings, a nikto street gang. District 1310 was mostly poor sullustan families trapped by poverty, extortion and racist Imperial policies. Nate's mother lived there because she lacked the means to live anywhere else, but Nate would often use the air vents to sneak to the higher levels of the city and watch the spacers come and go with their fancy ships and moneyed-outfits.

When he grew older, Nate learned a few skills and lifted enough credits to buy his way out from under the Kintan Kings. He took odd jobs here and there before he found himself on an out of the way world, named Muskree, where the only credits they had were the dust and dirt under their feet. Nate's employer had asked him to steal the only water reclamator from the town of Freedom Valley, planning to sell it to a more affluent colony. Nate not only refused the job and returned the down payment, he spent the next year of his life guarding the water reclamator to keep it from being stolen.

One of the reckless thieves that tried to steal it landed just outside Freedom Valley in a 4R3 Light Assault Transport, not realizing the reclamator was well defended. After Nate neutralized him, he took the ship for himself, naming it "Freedom's Vigil" and kept it secluded and hidden until he decided to leave the world for good.

Since then, Nate's tried to find honest crime to fill his time, the kind that doesn't hurt common folks. But Nate hasn't forgotten his origins, and has often given up opportunities to profit when people are truly in need. Despite that, he's managed to make a few sound investments as well. Recently, he's been contracted by a broker, a woman named Ainax Cardon, to work for a benefactor. While initially skeptical, he's agreed to the contract -- for now.
