Background: Born on Zolan, as all Clawdites are, Hayter began life subjugated by the Zolander. Raised in the slums and treated as a second-class citizen, he grew into a powerful hatred towards oppression and intolerance. This would be the primary driving force in his formative years, training with sects of Clawdites attempting to negotiate with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, hoping that they would assist in their liberation from the Zolander.
After the fall of the CIS and the formation of the Galactic Empire, Hayter decided to use his martial skills to impress the Mabari, an ancient order of Zolander Knights that rarely accepted Clawdites into their ranks. Eventually, he succeeded and was welcomed into the fold. His new position left him with a crisis of conscious: acceptance and loyalty to his new Mabari brothers and sisters, as well as hatred of the Zolander that represent the oppression he'd grown to hate.
Hayter decided to funnel his drive outward, into the galaxy at large. Having only achieved the first-level Mabari fighter markings, he asked to be relieved of the order to pursue a place in the newly formed Rebellion Against the Empire. The Mabari granted his request, giving him an honorable dismissal and permission to retain his first-level mark so long as he maintained an adherence to their tenets. His only penalty for leaving the order would be exile from his homeworld so long as he was no longer a member, and he gladly accepted the price. Leaving Zolan behind, he went in search of the Rebellion, and a new way to fight tyranny on a galactic scale...
